Philatelia Munich 2026 – Report on our participation
From 6 to 8 March 2026, the Philatelia Munich took place in Munich, an established stamp fair in southern Germany. Collectors, dealers and interested visitors used the event to see new issues, acquire postal items and exchange ideas about various collecting fields.
The Study Group for Medicine and Pharmacy (ArGe Medizin und Pharmazie) also used Philatelia Munich 2026 to present its work and its thematic collecting areas. The fair provided a suitable setting to offer insights into philatelic activities related to medical and pharmaceutical topics.
At the stand of the study group, various newsletters were presented, providing an overview of the ArGe’s publications and research topics. In addition, examples of stamp decorations and stamp collages were displayed. These creative works illustrated the many ways in which medical and pharmaceutical motifs can be represented and designed in philately.
However, the personal exchange was particularly important to us. Conversations with collector friends and acquaintances led to discussions about thematic philately, new developments in the collecting fields, and the current situation of philately in general.
In addition, our newly developed AI-generated promotional films were shown on the interactive screen, which also attracted interest and served as a starting point for further conversations.
Unfortunately, no new members could be recruited this year. Nevertheless, participating in the fair provided an opportunity to present the work of the study group, showcase its publications, and maintain existing contacts within the philatelic community.
