Topic of the virtual lecture (C.M. Brandstetter)
Butterflies in a nosedive!
Summary: Butterflies – Where have they gone this year?- what is the reason? Years ago, when I gave a lecture on butterflies in a nosedive, I explained the reasons for the decline of the butterflies. This year I had to note again that the number of butterflies has further dramatically decreased (therefore probably rather a fall than a decline). Also, observations this year are reduced to common species, which is why the strong attachment of the butterfly to the ecosystem must also be considered critically.
