René G. Favaloro (born July 12, 1923; died July 29, 2000) was an Argentine cardiac surgeon and cardiologist known worldwide for his pioneering contributions to the development of coronary bypass surgery and the improvement of cardiac surgery. Favaloro also a dedicated social activist. He advocated for better health care and education in Argentina. This is already the second stamp that Argentina issues in his honor.
