The mini mask, like so many embroidered brands, was made at Hämmerle & Vogel, a Vorarlberg specialist in fabrics and embroidery. The material is fleece, as it is used to make real FFP2 masks. Two layers of the original fleece were first embroidered and then cut out by laser. The gray embroidery emphasizes the characteristic details of the mask, such as the folding and the nose clip. In addition, the special pizzazz are the ear loops, also embroidered, which were sewn to the brands using a special process. The Mini-FFP2 stamp can be used normally for franking letters. Letter carriers are allegedly not thrilled about the freely hanging ear loops ;-).

We all know COVID, but what is ILA (ISA)? Infectious salmon anemia (ISA or ILA) is a viral disease of Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) caused by Salmon isavirus. It causes severe anemia in infected fish. Unlike the mature red blood cells of mammals, the mature red blood cells of fish contain DNA, and can become infected by viruses. The disease affects fish farms and progresses slowly throughout an infected population with death rates approaching 100%. The virus spreads by contact with infected fish or their secretions or possibly by the sea louse, or contact with equipment or people who have handled infected fish. Its mode of transfer is not fully understood. Apart from Atlantic salmon, both sea-run Brown trout (Salmo trutta) and Rainbow trout (Onchorhyncus mykiss) can be infected, but do not become sick. There is no treatment once fish are infected. ISA/ILA is a major threat to the viability of salmon farming since once infected it requires the total eradication of the entire fish stock.
